Event Details
Philadelphia, PA, --- Ask the average business owner if an investment in social networking sites is a part of their business plan and you may receive a raise of an eye brow in response. However, social sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn feed the craving business owners have to generate revenue.
On Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Carson Valley School of 6700 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. 19119, the Mt. Airy Business Association will host a free Internet marketing workshop called, "Social Networking for Businesses" to teach business owners how to use the internet as an excellent resource for identifying and engaging customers. Refreshments will be served. Please bring plenty of business cards. Cost: Free. Participants should RSVP before February 8, 2009 via http://philadelphia-social-networking.eventbrite.com/. Space is limited.
"Many business owners don't realize that their customers are online discussion their businesses. Ironically enough, there are potential customers online who are struggling to find certain products and services these same business owners provide. If a company is not online regularly using social networking tools to reach these customers, then the company is going to have a very difficult time surviving in today's market," said JC Lamkin, President of Gypsy Lane Technologies, a Philadelphia based company that does web development and Internet marketing, "there are over 5 million potential customers on Twitter alone."
This class will be facilitated by JC Lamkin, PMP. Ms. Lamkin was an invited panelist during the Congressional Black Caucus’ Annual Legislative Conference on Internet Security; the Spotlight Speaker at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Governor's Advisory Commission on African American Affairs Business Exchange Breakfast; the 2007 Technology Council Gala Nominee for Educator of the Year. Ms. Lamkin will also be available to sign copies of her book, “Fabulous & Tech-filled.com, Volume 1”.
